OUR JOURNEY, YOUR WELLNESS

Our Philosophy: Less is More

When it comes to recovery and bodywork, many people assume that more is always better. More pressure, more techniques, more intensity. The truth is, real and lasting results often come from the opposite approach. At MYO, we believe in the philosophy of “less is more.”

This mindset was inspired years ago by something John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers once said in an interview: “Less is more.” He was not talking about limits or holding back. He was talking about intention. In his music, it was not about how many notes he could play or how fast he could play them. It was about choosing the right notes and shaping the song with meaning.

That same principle applies to the way we work with the body. True progress does not come from overwhelming the system. It comes from precision, timing, and an understanding of how the body responds.

At MYO, less is more means working with the body rather than against it. Forcing tissue creates resistance, but when we move in sync with fascia, the body releases naturally. It means choosing precision over complexity. A single, well-placed technique often has more impact than stacking many on top of each other. It also means respecting the nervous system. Real change cannot happen when the body feels under threat. Progress takes place when the nervous system feels supported and safe.

Just like a perfectly placed note in a song can move an audience, a single intentional release in the right spot can reset the body and restore balance. That is why every session at MYO is designed with purpose. It is not about how much we can fit into one hour. It is about how each technique fits into the whole and helps the body move toward recovery.

Bodywork at MYO is about more than techniques. It is about intention, connection, and long-term results. Because in both music and recovery, what matters most is not how much you do, but why you do it and how it resonates long after.

ANDRES (DRE) RIVERA

Founder, MYO Total Wellness | Licensed Massage Therapist

Andres Rivera, founder of MYO Total Wellness, is a fascia-focused practitioner licensed since 2015 with over 30,000 hours of hands-on experience. His work is built on one question: how does your body actually move and how can we make it move better?

Andres didn’t come to this work through a textbook. It started with curiosity: why do so many people live in pain without understanding why? That question turned into a lifelong pursuit of anatomy, biomechanics, and fascia-driven movement systems.

His sessions are different. They’re not about chasing tight spots or providing quick relief – they’re about mapping the deeper patterns: how your body compensates, where it holds, and why pain keeps returning. Whether you’re rehabbing from injury, training for performance, or just trying to feel good in your body again, Andres creates a customized plan that meets you at your starting point and builds from there.

He has trained extensively with leaders in the field, including:

  • Tom Myers & the Anatomy Trains Team – Fascial mapping and tensegrity systems
  • Chris & Ann Frederick – Certified FST Level 2
  • Erik Dalton – Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques
  • Functional Range Release – Joint health and mobility training
  • Neurovascular Release – Techniques for circulation and neural decompression

He’s also certified in cupping therapy, instrument-assisted muscle scraping, and nervous system-based soft tissue techniques.

Andres has supported clients ranging from elite athletes and Olympians to touring musicians and weekend warriors. But no matter the body in front of him, the mission stays the same: educate, realign, and help people move with strength, balance, and longevity.

At MYO Total Wellness, this isn’t routine massage. It’s fascia-based recovery designed to reset the way your body functions – for the long run.

MIA YBARRA

Co-Founder, MYO Total Wellness | Licensed Massage Therapist

Mia Ybarra is a licensed massage therapist and co-founder of MYO Total Wellness, with a clinical focus on fascia-based bodywork and long-term movement restoration. Since 2017, Mia has built her practice around one core principle: no two bodies move – or heal – the same way.

She doesn’t chase symptoms. She looks at how the body compensates, how tension builds, and how movement patterns develop over time. Her sessions are tailored to support not just pain relief, but structural change – helping clients move more freely, reset postural habits, and regulate their nervous systems in real time.

Mia’s calm, detailed approach makes her especially effective for clients dealing with chronic stress, overuse patterns, and the hidden toll of a sedentary lifestyle. Her work blends deep technical knowledge with intuitive listening, creating a space where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to reconnect with their bodies.

Her advanced certifications include:

  • Fascial Stretch Therapy – Level 2 (Stretch to Win Institute)
  • Neurovascular Release – Nerve and vessel decompression
  • Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques – With Erik Dalton
  • Functional Range Release – Tissue adaptation and joint health
  • Anatomy Trains – Fascia-based movement and postural analysis
  • Cupping Therapy & IASTM – Tools for targeted restriction release

At MYO Total Wellness, Mia delivers more than a massage…she delivers a plan. One rooted in your structure, your stress, your story.

MYO Total Wellness Advanced Body Work

The Foundation of MYO Total Wellness™:
Integrity, Fascia & Movement

MYO Total Wellness was born from a deeper understanding of movement. It’s not just about recovery—it’s about how your body functions as a whole.

At its core, the human body isn’t just bones and muscles. It’s a tensegrity system, where fascia plays a central role in stability, mobility, and performance. This interconnected network distributes tension, absorbs impact, and coordinates movement in ways most traditional approaches miss.

Bones don’t hold you up—fascia and muscles do
Movement isn’t isolated—it’s an interconnected response
Restriction in one area affects the entire system

Understanding integrity—both in structure and in movement—led to the creation of MYO. It’s why we approach recovery differently, focusing on restoring balance and optimizing movement through techniques like manual therapy, cupping, and fascial release.

We don’t just treat symptoms—we help you move better, feel better, and perform at your best.
